WAITOMO - TAUPO - ROTORUA

Leaving New Plymouth we make our way to Waitomo where we have our first night. In the morning we will explore the world famous  Glowworm Caves. Formed from limestone over 30 million years ago, the caves were first discovered in 1887 and are now one of New Zealand's most popular tourist destinations. Wander through subterranean caverns and learn about stalagmitesstalactiteshelictites and other spectacular rock formations. Finish off your tour on a short but enchanting boat ride travelling through the Glowworm Grotto, where thousands of glowworms light up the darkness like tiny stars.


After our tour of Waitomo Caves we make our way to Taupo, to visit some of the key attractions of this beautiful area such as the world famous and breathtaking Huka Falls, Lake Taupo it's self  with a surface area of 616 square kilometres, it is the largest lake by surface area in New Zealand. You can also take part in the optional adrenaline activities such as: Bungy Jump, or  skydiving

This evening we stay in Rotorua where if you choose can experience the traditional Maori Hangi (Dinner cooked underground) We spend the next day in Rotorua where you can experience  the remaining optional activities such as the Gondola and Luge, Sheep Show, whitewater Rafting Jetboating, Polynesian Spa, OGO / ZORB,; and adventure park Agroventures. We will also have an opportunity to do some sightseeing around Rotorua visiting the Redwood Forest, the Blue and Green Lakes, and the Government Gardens.
