One of our most memorable experiences is a helicopter flight to
see the whales of Kaikoura.

Fly north from Christchurch following the coastline with
magnificent views of the Canterbury Plains and in the distance the spectacular
Southern Alps. After landing at our Heli pad in central Kaikoura, you will be
transferred to the experienced Kaikoura Helicopters Whale Watch team.

Being airborne provides the ultimate vantage point to explore
Kaikoura and its many natural wonders.

Experience the true scale and majesty of whales in their natural habitat, as
your pilot gently manoeuvres the helicopter to maintain the best possible
vantage point to see the whale from head to tail.

The sight of a whale diving is something you will never forget,
the huge tail rising high out of the water as it begins its decent to the heart
of the ocean.

The large pods of dolphins will delight you as they play, jumping
and spinning across the waves. Explore the unique and rugged coastline, then
fly in amongst the towering peaks of the Kaikoura seaward ranges.

After your flight, why not stop for a delicious fish & chip
lunch, or drop into one of Canterbury’s winery lunches as an optional extra?

Minimum number of fares required for flights to depart. – 2 fares

We see whales 97% of the time. Occasionally, despite our best
efforts and flight planning, you may not see a whale.

This is unfortunate due to the nature of these wild creatures. If
you do not see a whale, we do not offer a refund.

Helicopter used is at the discretion of GCH Aviation

Legal age to consume or buy alcohol in New Zealand is 18 years
old. Identification such as Drivers Licence or Passport must be carried.

Price is per person for 3 years old plus.

No child prices apply.

Infants 0 to 2 years old are free of charge and will be secured on
the lap of a fare paying passenger. 

Flight is subject to weather.

No refunds for bookings cancelled by passenger within 24 hours of
departure.

Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Prices increase yearly on the 1st of September until the 31st of
August.
